In Avanos, the trick is not to rush. The Kızılırmak splits the district in two, and everyone finds the same calm here — riverside walkers, wanderers in the lanes where pottery wheels spin, people leaning on the bridge to watch the water. The smell of red clay follows you everywhere. Following the river or getting lost in the old quarter makes little difference. Don't overthink it — toss the dice and walk toward whatever corner comes to mind.
